Texas Authorities Seek Custody of Polygamist Sect’s Children Again

More than two months after being forced to return children from a polygamist sect to their parents, Texas child welfare authorities want eight youngsters put back in foster care.

Individual hearings for the four mothers of the children, who range in age from 5 to 17, are set to begin Monday.

Child Protective Services has asked a judge to return the children to foster care because their mothers have allegedly refused to limit their contact with men accused of being involved in underage marriages.

“We continue to have concerns in particular for these eight children, which is why we have asked the judge to review the case,” said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.

None of the children live at the Yearning For Zion Ranch in Eldorado, from where authorities took roughly 440 children into foster care in April. Officials said the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which established the ranch, was forcing girls into underage marriages and grooming boys to be adult abusers.

I’m a pro-polygamy non-polygamist, and I think that the parents of those children are being harassed by their state. This is extermely predjudice, bigoted, and just plane immoral. It is an outragous travesty based on an unconstitutional law put in place to persecute a practice of a religous group based on personal prefrence. How dare the state take their children based on an immoral fakly self-righteous jealousy of a culture in which their private desire is is welcomed, and even encouraged.

These Social Workers are sick, if they have licenses, which I doubt,
they should be revoked, Texas should at least terminate their right
to practice in the State. They, if they have any ability to read
the body language of children, are sadistic victims of their own
avarice. This is their moment in the limelight and their not going to lose it over a bunch of kids who they feel a revulsion for and
bigotry against for.

In our biblical worldview, there are three options when it comes to marital relationships: monogamy, polygyny, and celibacy. Most people are monogamous. A few of us may be either polygamous or celibate. All three options are morally, ethically and spiritually equal.
