Meddling Christians
Posted by Joshuah at 30 March, 2009, 2:08 pmWhat do you tell a person who has been living happily in a polygynous relationship as the second wife, has two small children, and now all of a sudden has to separate from her husband and sister wife because the hitherto happy family has realized, no doubt with the help of their Christian friends, that polygamy is wrong ? The family wonders about moving to a place where wife #2 can live in a house or apartment of her own yet close to her former husband and sister wife so that the children still have both parents to grow up with and the poor second wife does not lose her husband’s and sister wife’s friendship because they are all really close. But doing this of course would still pose a danger in their Christian friends’ opinion because who knows, they might be falling back into their terribly sinful polygamous lifestyle if the second wife does not take her children and move away and have her husband pay to support her and the kids from afar.
What would you tell wife #2 ? What would you tell her husband ? What would you tell the Christian “friends” who advise them ?
Well, I have advice for them all.
To the wife I would say: Rejoice, there is nothing wrong with your marriage. Return to your husband and sister wife and be happy and may Yahweh bless you with many more children.
To the husband I would say: Rejoice, take your two wives and be happy, and repent from the sinful idea of putting away your second wife. Also, get rid of those so called friends who told you polygamy was wrong. They are of their father, the devil.
To the Christan friends I would say: Leave the poor family alone ! Your advice is wicked and ungodly, it creates pain rather than relieving it, it robs a wife of her rightful husband, and children of their father. Keep your false teaching to yourselves and stop looking for biblical wisdom that helps you to argue against polygamy – there is no such thing because the bible tells you that polygamy is marriage, nothing more, nothing less. Stay out of other people’s lives since you do not have biblical wisdom to offer, but only the adversary’s lies.

AMEN! This is a good example of why the Word of God states in it’s last words, “I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
Revelation 22:18-19
The phrase “They are of their father, the devil.” seems a bit harsh… The implication of that verse is that the person is not even really a christian and I’m not sure you can go that far… When you say that, are you saying it because they would try to split up the family? I don’t think polygamy is ideal, but once you’re married you’re married, and splitting up the marriage with the second wife is as wrong as splitting it up with the first wife. Interesting blog btw

I am calling them “of their father, the devil” because they lie, like their father did from the beginning. With their lies, they are advising people to commit a capital crime, a sin unto death. In this case, they are advising a man to put his wife away and make her an adulteress, and himself an adulterer, as Jesus explains in Mat 5:32 and Mat 19:9. This matter is not a trifle.
With their attitude and advice these Christians show that they uphold man’s law rather than God’s Law. They maintain that a polygamous marriage isn’t really a marriage after all, hence all parties involved could just act as if husband and second wife had never been married. This might be true in terms of state law, but certainly is not true in terms of God’s Law. Since these Christians put state law over God’s Law, their god is the state, not the God of the bible.
In this, they are not atypical Christians which means that many Christians are followers of Jesus Christ only spiritually, but not practically. Thus they worship Him with their mouths only.

You are right in saying that they are of the devil. There is a passage that connects the forbidding of marriage as a doctrine of devils. Look it up.

The polygyny in faith, is not sin! The jewish, muslims, and christians practice that, thousand and thousand years ago. The polygyny equal with monogamy!!
